We are trying to buy a used motor home and want a diesel one. Which class is diesel (class A, B, or C)?
There is no specific class of motor home which is diesel except the pushers, and pusher is not a class, it is a designation which indicates the engine is in the rear of the vehicle.
Class A motor homes are the big ones, and are built on truck, van or bus chassis. The pushers are in this class.
Class B's are van conversions, pretty much a van with a few fancies on it, nearly always gas and just look like a van that has been fixed up
Class C are truck an van body types which still have the van or truck face with a box added on for the living quarters.
You can occasionally find diesels in each of these but none are always diesel except the pushers in class A. I ran across one once that was 4×4 with a diesel engine and it was a van 1 ton chassis, 28' long, but that is really, really unusual.
First site is a class A gas
Second is a class A pusher diesel
3rd, is a class B camper
4th is class C
The diesels seem to begin at around 80K and I have seen some at a show in LA that went 500K.
