Decorating my garage…?

Ok, this is going to sound a little weird but my band needs a space to practice so I volunteered my garage. Problem is, it looks like a typical garage with bikes, and boxes, and an unused washing machine. We have chairs and a radio and stuff that we use to hang out, and we have a refrigerator sort of for refreshments. My garage is very spacious and would be perfect for us if it didn't look so depressing. There's no air-conditioning, so It gets hot, but I plan on adding fans. The lighting is really bad and I can't stand it. What can I do to decorate my garage, any ideas? My budget isn't too tight.

fabric walls (hang sheets or tapestries instead of using paint)

cool lights (maybe Chinese lanterns or string lights?) http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_lighting_other/article/0,1793,HGTV_3466_1394154,00.html

pillows for your sofa and/or chairs (relatively inexpensive if you make them!)

A folding screen is another good choice for dressing up your room (and also hiding a storage area if you're pressed for space). A screen can also create the illusion of a separate room.

Divider beads or curtains can be hung from the ceiling to section off different areas, and they're relatively inexpensive. http://shopping.msn.com/results/shp/?text=bead%20curtains
