  4. Drywall screws are actually NOT a good choice for this project due to the
    fact that drywall screws are made of hardened, brittle steel that will
    often snap under a moderate amount of force. Wood screws are made using
    softer metal that can handle the load and stress. Drywall screws are
    specifically made to secure drywall (go figure) to a wall, and are not
    something that will need to be backed out later, or tightened due to torque
    that you’d find with a hand railing. Replace them with Wood screws

    make such a different look to a set of stairs

  9. I prefer the old wooden spindles but that is just my preference. However I
    will try your idea about removing the carpeted stairs, they are so cheap
    looking and stain easily. Great videos.

  17. What you are trying to say is cotter key not carter key, but those are
    allen screws and allen wrenches. Your railings look better now.
