In your Favor: Costs are starting to drop on some things and you might get deals on materials and contractors or handymen. This may be around for a while, and even in a recovery period, prices could remain low.
Not in Your Favor: Your income may have been cut back or even eliminated. You might be a little hesitant to get into a remodeling project of any kind. The future seems a little uncertain.
What to do? Well, first, remember: putting your energies and maybe a little money into needed repairs and updates now could help your home maintain its value during this time where other houses are loosing theirs. Besides, the exercise will take off some of the stress.

You can see that if you were to squeeeeeze another 20% out, you might get ALL your dough back when you sell. Let's work toward that end.
