Real Work at Home Opportunities that Pay Hourly

How often do you wish you worked at home? With telecommuting gaining popularity and workers searching for a flexible schedule, a work at home jobs sounds like the perfect opportunity. Maybe you’re a student or a mother who has school age kids. Companies to hire work at home employees have access to an untapped labor market.

Some of the types of people who need to work at home include parents, people who live in rural areas, people with physical disabilities, college students and people who want to earn a paycheck but who prefer not to work in an office. Listed in this article are four companies who hire only work at home employees to provide customer service or sales support to clients all over the country. In most cases, you must supply your own phone, phone line, computer and computer access.

Alpine Access (www.alpineaccess.com) is a provider of customer service solutions based in Denver, Colorado. They use only home-based employees to field their call centers. If you work for Alpine Access, you will be hired as an employee instead of working on a contractor basis. They have been in business since 1998. They hire, train and manage all of their employees “virtually”. Alpine Access pays their agents on an hourly basis, which means that if calls do not come in, you are still being paid. They also offer paid training.

LiveOps (www.liveops.com) is based in Palo Alto, California. On their website, they claim to employ over 20,000 agents. In most cases, LiveOps agents are paid per minute of time that they are on calls. Each client’s program has a unique rate per minute. A new representative can make upwards of $6.50 per hour and an experiences agent can make $15 per hour and up. The website states that the busy times when you can make the most money are Saturdays and Sundays at dinner time. LiveOps agents are considered independent contractors.

Arise Virtual Solutions (www.arise.com) is based in Miramar, Florida. It’s a little more complicated to be hired at Arise. First, you have to become an “Arise Certified Professional”. This can take anywhere from two days to several weeks, depending on which Certification courses you take. It doesn’t say anywhere in the website that the training is paid or free, so it’s quite possible that you might have to pay them for the training. You also have to set up a Virtual Services Corporation in order to work for Arise. After setting up the corporation, the Virtual Services Corporation will then be eligible to make money from servicing that client. One more required fee is the $13 to conduct a seven year criminal background check. Arise states that the pay ranges from $10 to $14 per hour plus incentives and bonuses.

West At Home (www.westathome.com) hires call center representatives as employees. They offer paid training and no initial investment is required. They offer a flexible schedule where you can even work two separate shifts per day if you request that. The types of support work they offer are customer service, live chat support, email customer service support and sales calls. You can work for wither an hourly wage or per minute payment. It didn’t state what the average hourly earnings are anywhere in the website.

As you can see, there are many legitimate call center companies hiring work at home employees all over the country. Location and limited availability are no longer issues holding you back in your career.
