THERE’S something about this week’s Dream Home that is
truly divine – in more than one sense of the word.
For this lovely four-bedroom property in the heart of the seaside
town of Redcar has been created with more than a touch of inspiration
out of a building that used to be a place of worship Noun 1. place of worship – any building where congregations gather for prayer

And to prove it, the current owners of the aptly named The Old
Church have kept as many of its original features as they could salvage
– including the holy water font which sits proudly in their hallway.
“We’ve been here seven years this year,” explains
the owner of the spacious family home.
“When we moved in the church was in its original state, just
as it was.
“We decided we wanted certain things in a house and the only
way to get that was to build one ourselves.
“We saw the church and took a few measurements and found that
what we wanted inside would fit!” The bulk of the conversion work,
he says, was carried out by a builder but they’ve put their hearts
and souls into creating a truly modern and contemporary space both
inside and outside of the unique home.
