Each year paint trends change, for the most popular colors to paint indoors from room to room. While neutrals are always in style especially when staging to re-sell, but color combinations are always changing. Here are a few of the top choices for 2010.
With the addition of morning kitchens in other parts of the house the ‘Good Morning’ pallet is becoming very popular. The colors in this pallet are honey-like hues such as tan or pale gold, coral, mineral grey, and yellow.
The ‘Good Night’ Pallet is also coming into play in 2010. This pallet is used in bedrooms and bathrooms to warm up the room. These colors consist of pastel hues, particularly pale blue or shell pink for ceilings, eggplant, midnight blue, and wine.
The next trend pallet is the ‘Good Bye’ pallet. This is designed toward people who are staging their house for a quicker sale. These colors are recommended for living spaces, foyers and the kitchen. Colors in this pallet are khaki paired with crisp white, off-white, bisque, black, and mid-toned blues.
While in the past toned down colors have been popular for home trends, the past few years brighter tones have started comeback and that trend is only going to get bigger in the coming years. Yellow will be one of them. Yellow brings in the sun’s warmth and sparks imagination and innovation. The green hues will trend away from the sage colors, and blend with the yellows for a more vibrant look. Lavender, portraying luxury and elegance will be a huge choice in the bedroom.
Another big theory floating around that I have been seeing making its way into many houses is that the brown and beige colors are being replaced with slate and charcoal colors. Another color hitting the scene is aqua it symbolizes relaxation and makes many picture a relaxing beach somewhere so they are putting it in their homes to bring their vacations home. Blue has been making a comeback as can be seen in the ‘Good Bye’ pallet.
Behr had put their color pallets for 2010 out too. Their Soft Structure pallet has lots of greys in it with splashes of oranges and blues. Their Artisan Voyage is full of bright colors from Empress Teal to Soulful Music which is a deep blue. Their Dark Glamour is full of deep rich colors of grays, maroons and splashes of colors. The Farm House Craft collection is full of neutral colors of tans and beiges with a splash of deep red, yellow and green.
With all the new trends in the years to come one color that is for sure out, are the white walls of the past!
