Writing Self Improvement Goals

Today it is time to start setting your self improvement goals for 2011. To help you get started on those goals, take out your journal and do the following:

1. Determine where you need improvement

Decide what areas of your life need the most improvement. Are you reading at least 10 pages a day in a good book? Are you attending at least one seminar a year to improve your character? What are your hobbies? When was the last time you started a new hobby? Remember your mind is a muscle, so it needs to be worked. When you stop working your brain, it will stop working for you.

2. Create a reading list

Based on your answers in step one, what books do you need to read this year? If you’re not sure, check out our Suggested Reading List.

3. Create a seminar list

Research seminars that will help you grow and improve this year. For a list of seminars we highly recommend, visit our Resources page.

4. Commit to growing as a person

Make a commitment right now to read at least 10 pages a day in a good book. Then write your goals and make a commitment to accomplish them by the end of 2011.

5. Write Your Goals

Based on the information you gathered in the first four steps, write out your self improvement goals for 2011. Then use the system we talked about on Monday to help you reach those goals this year.

These questions are a starting point for setting your relationship goals. If you need more guidance, you should check out the Goal Setting Activity Program I created.
